LARGE Hot Water Heat Pump STIEBEL ELTRON WWK 302
High Efficiency Hot Water Heat Pump
The WWK Hot Water Heat Pump is proving to be one of the most efficient water pumps on the market providing high energy cost savings and environmentally friendly hot water all year round. This hot water heat pump technology has been tried and tested in Germany for over forty years to ensure consumers receive real energy, environmental, and money savings.
The WWK heat pumps are the lowest current drawing heat pumps on the market at only 2.3 Amps. It's highly energy efficient operation saves up to 74% on hot water energy use compared to a traditional electric hot water tank. The heat pump is Solar PV compatible can be operated on extended off-peak power and timers. The well insulated tank minimises heat losses to the outside air and therefore requires less re-heating of the water (costing you less $$$).
The WWK heat pumps have an additional special function: they can receive a signal from your solar PV system via an external signal. When this signal is sent from the solar PV inverter to the heat pump, the unit will increase the use of solar energy by raising the tank temperature - thereby banking energy now for use later.
To protect against corrosion, the heat pump cylinder is coated internally with special enamel and is equipped with a non-sacrificial current impressed anode. This means that the heat pumps are designed to work in hard and soft water areas, and therefore have a long lifespan.

FAQ
- What else do I need to complete the installation? Generally all that's required is a power point and somewhere to drain a bit of condensation from in the unit... apart from this, nothing, we send out a complete kit that can be installed immediately. Please note that to comply with regulations some installation types may require additional valves (see above in Kit Contents).
- What is the warranty on the hot water heat pump? Stiebel Eltron provides a 5-year warranty on the tank and condenser, and 2 years on the refrigeration and electrical components. Please note the warranty is valid for domestic installations only.
- How do I know where to install the heat pump? Heat pumps need to breath! Because they harvest heat from the air, they need access to lots of it. Generally we would recommend installing the heat pump outside, with the discharge vent of the heat pump not facing into the prevailing wind, and additionally not bouncing off a fence or wall and making its way into the air intake vent (this lowers the unit efficiency dramatically). We recommend internal installations only where there is a really large amount of air volume in the space. Stiebel Eltron recommends a minimum room size of 13 cubic metres, however, please not the temperature within an installation room of this size will drop by ~4°C when the heat pump is extracting heat from the air (so the larger the room, the better).
- What's the difference between the standard WWK 222/302 heat pump and the H-models? The WWK 222/302 H hot water heat pumps have a smart element situated in the top of the hot water cylinder. This smart element will switch on along with the heat pump function when a high volume of hot water is drawn off from the hot water tank. This smart element will assist the heat pump to heat approximately the top 80 litres. This smart element function is designed to aid hot water recovery for high use of hot water.
- Can the WWK be used for floor and radiator hydronic heating? The WWK range of heat pumps are not designed for room heating applications. The main reason is that the heat pump will eventually fail with warm return water continually entering the cold water inlet - the WWK heat pumps are designed to work with cold water only (10-20°C).
- What happens after I order the unit and pay? We will be in contact with you to confirm the order, delivery address and timeframe, and any other questions you may have.
- How long until I receive my order, and is there a delivery fee? Within Australian state/territory capital cities delivery is free (excluding Darwin), and your order will usually arrive within 3 business days. For orders outside of capital cities, we offer a flat-rate fee of $200 for delivery.
