DEL 13 Plus instantaneous water heater, 14.5 kW three-phase, 50°C limited
14.5 kW, three-phase, 50°C limited
An instantaneous heater heats the water as it flows, so it never runs out and loses no heat sitting in a tank. A shower needs a three-phase model; the single-phase models suit one low-flow tap.

A shower needs about 18 kW or more, which only a three-phase supply can deliver. Single-phase models (DHCE, DEM 6) run one low-flow basin or sink. Ask your electrician if you are not sure.
Power sets the flow. At a 30°C temperature rise, 14.5 kW gives about 7 litres a minute, 19.4 kW about 9 and 28 kW about 13. In colder areas the incoming water is colder, so size up.
Bathrooms must get water at no more than 50°C. The DEL Plus and the DHCE 50 models cap the outlet at 50°C, so no tempering valve is needed. The DHE and DHB-E go to 60°C and need a temperature-limiting device for bathrooms.
No. Even the single-phase DHCE needs its own hard-wired 30 or 40 amp circuit. The three-phase models need 20 to 40 amps per phase. Your electrician confirms the supply can carry it.
An instantaneous heater uses electricity at full price for every litre, but has no tank losses and never runs out. A heat pump with a tank uses about a quarter to a third of the electricity and runs from a 10 amp outlet. For a whole family house, a heat pump usually costs less to run. For an apartment, a granny flat or a far-away bathroom, instantaneous often makes more sense.
The DEL Plus accepts preheated water up to 50°C, the DHE and DHB-E up to 55°C, and adds only the heat that is missing. The DHCE 8/60 does not accept preheated water.
